After lots of research and several years experience with a reef tank we decided to set up a seahorse tank. The seahorse tank has been set up for about a year. Just to make sure anyone reading this is aware, Seahorse tanks are a lot of work and require dedication and education. If you are not willing to put in the daily time and effort, do not set up a seahorse tank. Seahorses are very delicate and need special care.

Lois is a wild Hippocampus Erectus female seahorse that we are training to eat frozen. Currently she eats very little frozen, but over time we should get her converted.

Lucy is a wild Red hippocampus erectus female seahorse that we recent bought at a fish wholesaler. We spotted her in a cooler full of peppermint shrimp, she was pretty small but she is eating well.

Mini like the mouse.. is a wild Hippocampus zosterae dwarf seahorse that we found while catching ghost shrimp for Lucy and Lois. Mini is very small and will require a lot of effort to raise.

The recent addition to the seahorse herd, Mini was an accident, not the planned parenthood type. Normally we separate all the grass and shrimp before we come back home, but we where tight on time. So we tossed a bunch of shrimp and a little grass in the cooler and brought it home to separate. In the process of pulling out the ghost shrimp, we ran across a Mini the seahorse.
